Salinas Museum

The Regional Archaeological Museum “Antonio Salinas” in Palermo contains collections of Greek and Punic art and has been reopened after a recent restoration and modernization. The exhibition extends around the two splendid cloisters and also includes the cells of the northern aisle of the Major Cloister, recovered as new exhibition spaces. One section of the museum is entirely dedicated to artefacts found during underwater excavations; another is dedicated to Phoenician-Punic finds and another still to the archaeological area of Selinunte. The new exhibition presents gold artefacts from the necropolis of Tindari, various epigraphs, materials from the necropolis of Randazzo, some extraordinary vases from the necropolis of Agrigento and much more.
