Church of Santa Ciriaca

The remains of the Church of Santa Ciriaca are of particular importance because the building was erected in the Arab era, as early as 827 and even before the cathedrals of Palermo and Monreale. The church was a bulwark of the Christian faith lived and practiced during Arab dominance, but slowly lost its importance until it was almost completely forgotten. It was mentioned again in 1878, when it appeared incorporated into a 16th-century building.
