Church of San Vitale



The Church of Saint Vitale was built in the 17th century on the remains of the royal chapel attached to the castle founded by Roger. The church has two Gothic-style double lancet windows on the eastern façade and is rich in stuccowork by Antonio Messina. San Vitale da Castronovo, now patron saint of the town, was a Christian monk, born in Castronovo di Sicilia in the 10th century.
